Superchip's LED display data segmentation patent can effectively reduce the storage space of the driver circuit by writing the register configuration information and LED grayscale data into the register, storing the high data bits and low data bits in the preset storage area, and then processing them through the data reading module and display processing module. This improves the performance of LED display while reducing the cost, which is of great significance for the application of large-scale LED display.



Superchip has obtained the invention patent of “LED Display Data Segmentation Method and System”, the patent application number is CN201910566742.3, and the date of authorization is July 5, 2024.



The patent provides a method for segmenting display data of an LED display screen, which mainly includes the following steps:



  • Writing data into a register: writing register configuration information and LED gray scale data into a register.
  • Data storage: the storage area selection module stores the high data bits of the LED grayscale data in the register in a preset storage high area, and stores the low data bits of the LED grayscale data in the register in a preset storage low area.
  • Data reading: the data reading module reads the high data bits and low data bits of the LED grayscale data from the storage high bit area and storage low bit area respectively.
  • Data processing and display: the display processing module combines the high data bits and low data bits of the LED grayscale data into subframe data, and then controls the driver module to provide driving current for the LED display, so that the cumulative lighting time of the LED display in each frame cycle corresponds to the subframe data of the grayscale data.



This patent can effectively reduce the storage space of the driver circuit. Superchip has been granted 28 new patents this year, an increase of 115.38% compared to the same period last year. Combined with the financial data of the company's 2023 annual report, the company invested 182 million yuan in research and development in 2023, an increase of 19.29% year-on-year.
