In some industrial control motherboards, W83627DHG often works together with the south bridge chip. For example, in the maintenance of a desktop motherboard, the fault sometimes can be turned on, sometimes can not be turned on. Upon inspection, it was found that W83627 pin 68 is the power-on pin, pin 67 sends power to the Southbridge, the Southbridge gets the power-on signal and sends a 3.3V voltage to W83627 pin 73, when pin 73 goes high, pin 72 goes low and turns on the power.




In the Advantech CPC-1817's 6U Compact PCI standard motherboard, the system detection uses the WINBOND W83627DHG, with a built-in watchdog timer that supports 1 - 255 seconds or 1 - 255 minutes, 510 levels, timeout to interrupt or reset the system, and hardware detection of the system voltage, current, and temperature. In some motherboards, it will also work with other chipsets such as Intel Q965 + ICH8 (-R) + W83627DHG chipset.




The Winbond W83627DHG chip is an input/output control chip that typically works in conjunction with other chips on the motherboard to perform various functions of the computer.



It may work in conjunction with the following types of chips:


  • Southbridge Chip: The Southbridge chip is responsible for managing various input/output devices, interfaces, etc. It works in conjunction with the W83627DHG chip to support and manage traditional input/output interfaces (e.g., keyboards & mice, printers, floppy disk drives, UARTs, etc.).

The RT8802A provides the power layout for the processor; the RTM875T-531 is one of the control chips needed for overclocking; and the ALC883 is used to provide high-quality 7.1-channel sound output to support HD Audio.
