MACOM is a leading provider of high-performance analog RF, microwave, millimeter wave and optoelectronics solutions, headquartered in Lowell, Massachusetts, USA, with more than 60 years of history. Prior to 2000, MACOM focused on the development of RF and microwave products, ranging from common discrete diodes and triodes to integrated ics and high-power devices.
Since 2010, MACOM has made multiple acquisitions, especially in 2011, MACOM acquired a high-speed optical communications company Optomai, which opened its door to enter the high-speed optical communications field. In 2013, MACOM acquired Mindspeed to expand its high-speed simulation products and technology. In 2014, MACOM acquired BinOptics, a laser company, and Photonics Controls, a silicon optics company. Acquired TOSA/ROSA vendor FiBest in early 2016 to gain high-speed packaging capabilities. In 2017, MACOM acquired cloud infrastructure vendor Applied Micro.
